Gateway InstallationInformation and InstructionsConnectivityGateways has two links it has a wired and a wireless link. Wireless ConnectionWireless connectivity is used to connect the gateway to the ferry when the ferry arrives at the gateway. The IP addresses, essid and channels are hard coded. In case of testing we need to modify these parameters. This is done by the iwconfig utility and is briefly described in the testing and trouble shooting section. Wired ConnectionThe wired link is used for sending data which it gets from the ferry to the proxy. The IP address can be behind the net or a public IP. It should have connectivity to internet. Information asked during InstallationThe information which is required by the Gateway is as below IP InformationWe need to provide information for the wired interface.
Wired IPIP interface for the wired link : 192.168.2.101 (This IP can be behind the network also and can also be a public IP so accordingly the things need to be set up .) Net MaskAll this information is available with the network administrator. Gateway AddressExample: BroadCast AddressThis can be obtained from the IP address and the net mask.Where there is zero in the netmask in that position of the IP enter 255.
Therefore for this case we have :
Example: UNIX Host NameThis is the name of the machine similar to those given previously.
Example: Region NameThis is also similar to previous regions as given in earlier installation.
Example: Organization NameThis is also similar to previous enetries.
Example: Public Keys for SSHSince the keys have already been generated and stored in a folder so we give the path of that folder.
Example: EID of the ProxyIn this we need to put in the EID of the proxy which we noted down earlier.
Example: Domain Name of the ProxyThis is the domain which we entered during the installation of the Proxy. If every thing goes well then it asks you to continue writing to the HDD. After it finishes then put the HDD into Soekris Box and then boot and test. Return to deployment guide. |
