Ferry Installation

Ferry installation is simplest of all the nodes.

Information and Instructions

A ferry has wireless connectivity for both the gateway and the kiosk. We use the wired connection only for testing.

UNIX Host Name

This is same as we have been entering previously.
Example:
UNIX host name : ferry2

Region Name

This is the region in which the ferry is going to operate so it will be same as that entered previously. Example:
Region Name : region2

Organization Name

The name of the the organization that has been entered in the Proxy, kiosk and the gateway.
Example:
Organization Name : uw2

SSH Keys for Password less entry

These are the same keys that were installed on the kiosk controller. So give the same path.
Example:
Path for Pubkeys : /tmp/pubkeys

EID of the Proxy

We enter the same EID which we noted down previously during the installation of the proxy. Example:
proxyname.self.uw2.kiosknet.org

Testing and Starting

First, mount the HDD on the Soekris box. Boot up the Soekris Box.
Login is “root” and password is whatever you chose at install time. After logging on set the date and time and also modify the the ESSID on all the wireless interfaces
