Table of contents

Text

To enter text, click on 'Edit this page' at the bottom of the page. This will put you into an edit window. Just type into it, then save the page.

If you want a new paragraph, put a blank line between lines. Otherwise, the piki will run the lines together.

Headings

To make a first level heading, like the one above, put an '=' on either side of your text, like this: =Heading=

Second level heading

To make a second level heading, put an '==' on either side of your text, like this: ==Second level heading==

Third level heading

To make a third level heading, put an '===' on either side of your text, like this: ===Third level heading===

If you have more than one heading, you will automatically get a table of contents generated for you at the top of the page.

Text formatting

Italics: To make italics, put two ' characters on each side like this ' 'italics ' '

Bold : To make a bold word, put three ' character on each side like this ' ' ' bold ' ' '

  • Bullet : To get a bullet item, put a * in the first column
  1. Numbered item : To get a numbered item, put a # in the first column
    • To get numbered and bulleted items, combine them. This line starts with #*.

Making a new page

To make a new Piki page, follow these steps.

  1. Decide what you want to call the page. Lets say you want to call the page 'Schedule'.
  2. Edit the page from where you want to link to the new page. At the right place in the edit box, type o[ [ name of the page ] ]. For instance, to get a new page called 'Schedule', you would type [ [ Schedule ] ].
  3. Save the page. Piki will create a link to a new page for you, which will be coloured red, to show this page does not exist.
  4. Click on this red link. You will be taken to the new page, and put in an edit box.
  5. Just add text to this edit box and save the page. Your new page is now ready to go, and is already linked to the previous page.

Hyperlinks

A Piki has two types of hyperlinks, internal and external. To make an external link, use square brackets around the link, like this: open square bracket URL text tag close square bracket. For instance, here is an external link to news (http://news.google.com)

To make in internal link to a page that you created using the technique described in 'Making a new page', surround the name of the page with two square brackets.
