• Life in Waterloo

Life at Kitchener and Waterloo, joint referred to as “Kitchener-Waterloo” or “KW,” is pleasant and mostly comfortable, except, perhaps, during the Canadian winter. KW is the home of tech titans such as RIM and OpenText, and the unusual intellectual property policy of the university (UW owns no IP) has fostered the creation of hundreds of tech startups in the region.

Waterloo is one-hour drive from Toronto downtown, the largest city in Canada, and a two-hour drive away from Niagara Falls, the greatest waterfall on earth and one of the world’s wonders.

Waterloo and its nearby surroundings are home to many tourist attractions including Mennonite farms (wikipedia).
